To take full advantage of WhatsApp’s notification sending feature, it’s important to understand that when you activate a number on the platform, you’re essentially creating a new WhatsApp account using the official APIs.
As with any WhatsApp service, each phone number can only be associated with one account at a time.
For this reason, it’s not possible to use the same number for two accounts simultaneously (for your personal/business WhatsApp account and the Cloud Booking platform).
WhatsApp Number Activation #
If you already have an account/used to connect your number to the platform via the WhatsApp API, you’ll first need to manually delete your existing WhatsApp account (uninstalling the app isn’t enough).
This step, as mentioned previously, is necessary because WhatsApp only allows one active account per phone number.
Delete Existing WhatsApp Number Account #
If you want to use a number already active on WhatsApp Business, you can do so by following these steps:
- Delete existing account: Log in to the WhatsApp Business app and go to Settings > Account > Delete Account
- Proceed with activation: Once the account has been deleted, you will be able to associate the number with Cloud Reservations
- Consider the consequences: You will permanently lose all conversation history from the previous account.
Register WhatsApp Number on Platform #
To start the integration, remember to have:
- Access to your Facebook Business Manager
- Phone number for WhatsApp
- Your company information
The number you use must be yours (registered under your company) and must be able to receive verification calls and SMS from Meta.
The system will open a modal window and the process will continue to Meta.
